Horus Security has many years of experience delivering intelligence-led security services to institutions, projects and organisations operating within the education sector. Therefore, the Horus-I app can be easily adapted to meet the requirements of specific risks and challenges facing clients within the education sector.  

The Horus-I app is an information dissemination tool designed to inform and advice on events and occurrences that may impact the daily operations of traveller’s and organisations.  

Our app enables institutions to extend their duty of care for staff and students globally by offering 24/7 support, alert notifications, expert advice at your fingertips and the ability to customise the type of alerts you receive on your device. 

The Horus-I app allows staff and students to explore the world safely, helps global universities, colleges and schools resolve the travel challenges surrounding the safety of their students, helping them mitigate risk and assist in an emergency. Through our easily accessible 24/7 information network, users are provided with global travel information straight to their phone and receive security alerts that may impact current or future plans.  

The easy-to-use desktop control panel makes it possible for every user – such as the campus security manager or parents of the user to view all active alerts as well as monitor individual activity within a group account and contact an individual in the event of an emergency – all from a single screen. Horus-I has also been specifically built to be adaptable to the needs of the institution. Alert settings allow customisation for the type and location of alerts, allowing users to select the relevant incident types to alerted to for upcoming travel destinations.

With Horus-I alert notifications, staff and students are able to receive information ‘as-it-happens’ about general and specific events and occurrences that may impact travel or are a cause for concern to the user’s safety. There is also a ‘Near Me’ option that can be activated to allow users to refine the app by only receiving alerts that are in the individual’s immediate vicinity.  

Unique to the Horus-I, the ‘Watch Me Closely’ feature was developed to be activated by staff and students in the event where they may feel unsafe. Upon activating ‘Watch Me Closely’ the Watch Keeper team from the Control Room will be notified of this and begin tracking the user, subsequently contacting them to offer further assistance.
